About the Team and Role

We have an immediate opening for an Analyst or Associate Manager of Strategy and Synergy in SSIC’s Corporate Development team to support our strategy and synergy initiatives with the Harman acquisition, assist in recommending corporate-level strategies for M&A and investments, and engage with the collaboration and management efforts of future acquisitions and investments. We are a fast-paced and rapidly growing team with a broad and ambitious mandate to accelerate Samsung’s growth – this is an opportunity for the right candidate to work on headline grabbing deals and impact Samsung’s strategy and inorganic growth across multiple sectors. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Strategy and Synergy. This position is a mixture of corporate development, business planning, and post-merger integration roles.


Areas of Responsibility

  • Synergy and Post-Merger Integration (PMI)
    • Support the Chairman of Harman in ongoing business and strategy reviews, status updates, and preparations for board meetings
    • Identify and execute projects focused on synergy realization between Harman and Samsung
    • Assist in ongoing synergy development and integration work streams by coordinating with key stakeholders throughout Samsung and companies acquired in the future to enable the realization of deal value
    • Establish best practice and processes for ongoing M&A and PMI efforts
  • Corporate Development and Strategy
    • Prepare strategic recommendations for corporate development initiatives, spanning from overall corporate-level strategy to M&A
    • Develop market intelligence and insight on industry trends, including market opportunity, business model, technology, supply chain, competitors, customers
    • Provide updates on competitor activities and assessments of strategic implication to Samsung’s interests
    • Perform due diligence as a core member of deal team to help identify strategic objectives, risks, and synergy opportunities with a potential deals, including M&A, divestitures, JV, and strategic investments
    • Interpretation and analysis of information, business plans, financial information, and other publicly available information
    • Qualifications and Requirements
  • BS / BA / MS in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Science, with excellent academic track record high regarded
  • 2 to 3 years of prior work experience, preferably at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate development/strategy role at a major technology company
  • Practical knowledge of financial analysis and modelling
  • Excellent communication skills – both interpersonal and written
  • Fluency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Cross-functional project management experience in a high tech industry preferable
